HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION OF RESPECT Levine, Chuck 2012-04-24Office of the Mayor,Estes Park,Colorado RESOLUTION OF RESPECT — - WhEREAS,Chuck Levine served the citizens of Estes Park as Trustee of the Town of Estes Park from 2004 to 2012;and Mayor Pro Tern from 2008 to 2012;and WhEREAS,Chuck served the community of Estes Park in numerous capacities which include but are not limited to a member of Estes Valley Sunrise Rotary,Estes Valley Victim Advocates,Estes Park Habitat for Humanity,Estes Valley Community Services Coalition,Parents and Community for Kids,Restorative Justice,and United Way;and WHEREAS,during his tenure as Trustee,Chuck facilitated the revision, approval,increase,establishment,improvement,andlor implementation of the following: •Evolution of the CVB and construction of the new Visitor Center •Review of Comprehensive Plan •Support for the Performing Arts Center •Support for the goals and projects of EPURA until its dissolution in 2010 •Support for the goals of the Estes Park Housing Authority •Support for Sister Cities relationship with Monteverde,Costa Rica •Acquisition of Hermit Park by the Larimer County Open Lands Program •Conservation Easement for Lots 5,6,8 Stanley Historic District •Support for the Transportation Plan •Collaboration with RMNP to establish Seasonal Shuttle Bus Service •Expansion of the Shuttle System •Fairgrounds Park-n-Ride Construction •Real Time Passenger Information System at Park-n-Ride •Development of the Stanley Park Master Plan •Partnered with EPURA to build new Grandstands at Stanley Park fairgrounds •Formation of the Local Marketing District •Creation of the Estes Valley Fire Protection District •Expansion of the Maiys Lake Water Treatment Plant •Upgrades to Light and Power Circuit Substation and Distribution System •Bond Park Master Plan •Developed plans for a Multi Purpose Event Center at Stanley Park Fairgrounds •Trail System Expansion and Construction •Adoption of both the 2003 and 2009 International Building Codes •Adoption of New Sign Code •Adoption of Skills-Based Building Contractor Licensing •Bark Beetle Ordinance and Acquisition of an Air Curtain Burner •Approval of an Economic Development Initiative •Regional Tourism Act Application for Elkhom Lodge •Capital Asset Management Plan WHEREAS,Chuck served on the following groups/committees:Community Development/Community Services Committee,Public Works Committee,Estes Valley Board of Adjustment,Tree Board,Rooftop Rodeo Committee Liaison, Museum Advisory Board Liaison,Senior Center Liaison,Colorado Municipal League Policy Committee,and Estes Park Pride Awards Committee.
