HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION OF RESPECT Kilsdonk, Betty 2012-04-10Office;of the Jvta1or,Estcs park,Cotora4o RESOLUTION Of RESPECT WHEREAS,Betty Kilsdonk has served the citizens and visitors of Estes Park in numerous capacities from 1992 to 2012;and WHEREAS,in 1992,Betty gained employment with the Town of Estes Park as Museum Curator and within two years was promoted to Museum Director.In 1998,she was promoted to Museum/Senior Center Services Director.In 2009,Betty was named Community Services Director and has served in that capacity since;and WHEREAS,Betty was awarded Management Team Employee of the Year in 1996 and received numerous Mayor’s “Tell Me What You Think”cards and letters from citizens in appreciation of her work;and WHEREAS,Betty developed and chaired the Citizens Information Academy in 2003 and received incentive awards in 2007 and 2009 for her work on the program;and WHEREAS,Betty participated in many projects for the good of the community and the betterment of Town services,including the following: Establishment of the Sister Cities program and a formal relationship with Monteverde,Costa Rica,in 2004 Grant funding and restoration of the Fall River Hydroplant,a recipient of the Colorado Historical Sodety ‘s Bancroft A ward and the Colorado Preservation, Inc.,HonorA ward Expansion of the Estes Park Museum including the public meeting room Development of the Knoll-Willows Master Plan,implementation of which received a Larimer County Environmental Ste wardshio A ward Privatization of food service at the Estes Park Senior Center in 2004 to save tax dollars and improve service quality Establishment of the Town’s volunteer recognition program Acquisition of numerous grants and awards from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and other entities to streamline Museum operations Creation of “Tracks in Time”exhibit renovation at the Estes Park Museum, which received an American Assoäaflon for State and Local History Cen’iflcate of Commendation in 1999 Development of Memorandums of Understanding between the Town and its volunteer affiliate groups including the Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation,Inc.,Estes Park Senior Citizens Center,Inc.,and the Ambassadors of Estes Park. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,by this Resolution and Public Record,recognize the dedication and leadership of Betty Kilsdonk during her tenure with the Town and express profound appreciation for her service to our community.
