AN ORDINANCE AKENDING SECTION 19.2 (Lv)OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF ESTES
PARK,COLORADO,THE SAIVIE PERTAINING TO
RESTRICTIONS ON TIRE EQUIPIvINT ON STREETS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TIlE BOARD OF TRUSThES OF THE
TOWN OF ES’HES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 19.2 (Lv)of the Municipal
Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado be and the same is
hereby amended to read:
19.2 Restrictions On Tire Equipment On Streets.
)No tire on a vehicle moved on a street shall
have on its periphery any block,stud,flange,cleat or spike
or any other protuberances of any material other than rubber
which projects beyond the tread on the traction surface of
the tire,except that on single tired passenger vehicles and
on other single tired vehicles with rated capacities up to
and including three-fourths ton it shall be permissible to
use tires containing studs or other protuberances which do
not project more than one-sixteenth of an inch beyond the
tread of the traction surface of the tire,and except that
it shall be permissible to use farm machinery with tires
having protuberances which will not injure the highway,and
except also that it shall be permissible to use tire chains
of reasonable proportions upon any vehicle when required for
safety because of snow,ice or other conditions tending to
cause a vehicle to skid.
Section 2.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,
determines and designates that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace,health
and safety,and whereas in the opinion of the Board an
emergency exists,this ordinance shall take effect and be
f.rce five ()days after its final passage,adoption
