AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 11.17 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF ESTES
PARK,COLORADO,PERTAINING TO NETAL
BIflLDINGS.
BE IT ORDAIHED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN
OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 11.17 of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado is hereby repealed.
Section 2.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,
determines and designates that this Ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace,health
and safety,and whereas in the opinion of the Board of
Trustees an emergency exists,this Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force five (5)days after its final passage,
adoption and publication.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 6.5,6.6 AND
6.7 OF THE I’RINICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF ESES
PARK,COLORADO,PERTAINING TO WATER TAP APPLI
CATIONS,CHARGES,FEES AND SIZES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TEE TOWN
OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 6.5 of the Municipal Code of
the Town of Estes Park,Colorado is amended to read:
6.5 Application for Water.All applications for
water service shall be made on forms furnished by the Town
of Estes Park,which applications shall be filed in the
office of the Water Superintendent.The application must be
made by the owner of the property to be served or his duly
authorized agent.All applicable information requested on
the application forms must be furnished,and all required
fees and charges must be paid before water service will be
furnished to any consumer.
Section 2.That Section 6.6 of the Municipal Code of
the Town of Estes Park,Colorado is amended to read:
6.6 Tapping Charge -Special Fees.The consumer
shall pay to the Town Clerk for each new water tap a fee
which shall be the total sum of the following charges:The
actual cost to the Town of the corporation cock,expansion
joint,curb box,tapping saddle and water meter furnished
by the Town to make such tap,and the following sums for each
connection to the Town’s water system:
5/8”or 3/L”connection $235.00
1”connection 350.00
connection 500.00
l_l/2”connection 650.00
2”connection 1,050.00
3”connection 2,100.00
connection 3,500.00
6”connection 7,000.00
The size of all connections shall be determined by the Town
of Estes Park.
In addition to the foregoing fee,for a water tap
outside of the corporate limits of the Town,the consumer
shall also pay for each tap the sum of $23L.37 per acre of
land to be served by such tap with a minimum sum of $117.18.
The Water Committee shall determine the area of the land to
be served.In lieu of the foregoing sum to be paid for each
acre of land served,the Town of Estes Park may accept water
rights that will yield annually to the Town,in the judgment
of the Board of Trustees,1.5 acre feet of water per acre of
land being served.All necessary pipe,fittings,valves,shut
off,trenching,back filling and installation of the tap,must
be at the expense of the consumer and under the supervision of
the water superintendent.All water service connections and
all water service extensions,both within and without the
corporate limits,are subject to special lees as adopted by
the Board ol Trustees.Tapping must be done by a licensed
plumber and a standard corporation cock and expansion joint,
furnished by the Town,must be used.No water service shall
be furnished to the consumer until all tap fees and special
fees have been paid to the Town Clerk.
All property for which a connection lee has been paid
after January 20,1966 as herein provided,must be connected
to the TownTs water system for water service within ten (10)
years from the date of the payment of such fee.After the
expiration of the heretofore provided ten (10)year period
a new application for water service must be made and another
connection fee paid,at the rate then prevailing for such fees,
before water service will be furnished to any property.All
property for which a connection fee has been paid prior to
January 20,1966,must be connected to the Townts water
system for water service prior to January 20,1986 before a
new application for water service must be made,and another

connection fee paid as provided in this section for appli
cations granted after January 20,1966.
Section 3.That Section 6.7 of the Municipal Code of
the Town of Estes Park,Colorado is amended to read:
6.7 Size of Service Tap.No service tap for a single
family residence shall be more than five-eighths inch in
diameter unless special permission is given for a bigger tap.
All plumbing through which water is used shall be installed
by a licensed plumber.
Section Lj..The Board of Trustees herewith finds,
determines and designates that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety for the use of and regulation of water affects the
public health and safety,and whereas in the opinion of the
Board of Trustees an emergency exists,this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force five (5)days after its final
passage,adoption and publication.
