AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.3-3 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF ThE TOWN OF ESTES PARK,
COLORADO,PERTAINING TO RULES AND REGULATIONS
FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE SHUT OFF,BILLING AND
PAYMgNT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN
OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 7.3-3 of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado is amended to read:
7.3-3 Service Shut Off -Billing and Payment.
(a)Billing and Payment.All bills for
electric service shall be due and payable on or before the
10th day of the month or within 10 days after the date of
billing following the itionth or period in which service was
rendered,unless satisfactory arrangements of payment are
made in advance of due date.
(b)Discontinuance of Service on Default
of Payment.If any statement for electric service is not
paid by the 2th day of the month of billing,or satisfactory
arrangements made,a notice shall be mailed to the consumer
at the address carried on the records of the Department that
electric service will be discontinued on the 10th day of the
month following the date of such billing,if the amount due
on the consumers account is not paid prior to such shut
off date.
(c)Reinstating Service.Before reinstating
service to any consumer who has had service discontinued,the
consumer must pay all arrears in full,plus $2.0 for a
connection charge.
(d)Other Rule or Regulation Violation.
Service may be discontinued for the violation of any other
rules or regulations,upon L8 hours notice mailed to the

consumer at the address carried on the records of the
Department,advising the consumer in what particulars such
rule or regulation has been violated and for which service
will be discontinued.Such notice shall not be required
where a by-pass is discovered on the consumer’s meter or
in the event of the discovery of dangerous leakage or short
circuit on a consumer’s premises,or in case of a consumer
utilizing the service in such a manner as to make it danger
ous for occupants of the premises.
Section 2.The Board of Trustees herewith finds,
determines and designates that this ordinance is necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety for the regulation of electric service affects the
public health and safety,and whereas in the opinion of the
Board of Trustees an emergency exists,this ordinance shall
take effect and be in force five ()days after its final
passage,adoption and publication.
