ORDINANCE NO.31 -72
AN ORDINANCE AHENDING SECTIONS 3.L AND
3.L-1 OF THE WUNICIPAL CODE OF TEE TOWN
OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO,RELATING TO
TOWN ATTORNEYTS APPOINTRENT AND DUTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY ThE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Section 3.Lt.of the Municipal Code
of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,is amended to read as
follows;
3.L1 Town Attorney -Appointment.The Board of
Trustees at its first regular meeting after each beinnial
election,shall appoint some qualified attorney at law as
the Torn Attorney and shall fix his compensation.In case
of a vacancy in the office of Town Attorney,the Board
shall appoint a Town Attorney for the unexpired term.The
Board of Trustees may also appoint such assistant Town
Attorneys as it deems necessary.
Section 2.That paragraph 3.L-l of the Municipal
Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,is amended to
read as follows:
3.L-l Duties.It shall be the duty of the Town
Attorney and assistant Town Attorneys to attend meetings of
the Board of Trustees as directed by the Mayor or the Board
of Trustees,to draw all ordinances,contracts and other
instruments when requested to do so,to prosecute or defend
all suits brought by or against the Town of Estes Park,and
to render such legal service to the Board of Trustees and
other Town officers as they may require.
Section 3.The Board of Trustees of the Town of
Estes Park,Colorado,herewith finds,determines and desig
nates that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public peace,health and safety,for
the appointment and duties of the Town Attorney affects the

public peace,health and safety,and whereas in the opinion
of the Board of Trustees an emergency exists,this ordinance
shall take effect and be in force five (5)days after its
final passage,adoption and publication.
