AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12.20.020
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF
ESTES PARK,COLORADO,RELATING TO SIDE
WALKS AND CURBS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN
OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.Section 12.20.020 of the Municipal Code of
the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,is hereby amended to read as
follows:
12.20.020 Construction--Conformance to permit specifi
cations.All sidewalks and curbs shall be constructed on a
grade,line and location established by the town engineer and
specified in the permit.All sidewalks shall be constructed of
cemented inorganic materials,such as concrete,brick and con
crete block or any combination thereof,which materials shall
be securely cemented in place.All curbs shall be constructed
only of concrete.The surface of any sidewalk shall not have
a variation in its grade of more than one—fourth of an inch.
The surface of any sidewalk shall have at lease a degree of
roughness of a broomed cement surface.Every permit for open
ings,driveways or cuts in any curb shall specify the width
and location of such openings,driveways or cuts,and no permit
shall be issued without first being approved by the board.
Section 2.The board of trustees of the town of Estes
Park,Colorado,herewith finds,determines and designates that
this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public peace,health and safety,for the regulation of
sidewalks and curbs affects the public peace,health and safety;
and whereas,in the opinion of the board of trustees,an emer
gency exists,this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
after its final passage,adoption and the approval and signa
ture of the mayor.
