AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK,
COLORADO,THE SAME PERTAINING TO ELECTRICAL
INSPECTIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF ESTES
PARK,COLORADO:
Section 1.That Chapter 14.20.020 of the Municipal Code of
the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,shall be amended to read as
follows:
14.20.020 License——Required.It is unlawful for any person
to engage in the business of installation,altering or repairing
electrical wiring in the town without first having procured a
license therefor.No such license shall be issued to any such
person unless he is duly licensed as a master electrician by the
proper authority of the state.The requirement for a license
shall not apply to the owner of any property doing work in or
about his own residence,provided that he first obtains the neces
sary permit therefor;nor shall the licensing provisions apply to
a journeyman electrician or helper who is working under the control
and supervision of a licensed electrician.
Section 2.That Chapter 14,Section 14.20.040 of the
Municipal Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,shall be
amended to road as follows:
14.20.040 Permit--Required.No electricial wiring shall be
installed,altered or repaired,in connection with any building
in the town,without first obtaining a permit from the Colorado
State Electrical Board.
Section 3.That Chapter 14,section 14.20.050 of the
Municipal Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,shall be
amended to read as follows:
14.20.050 Permit——Application——Issuance.Application for
permit shall be made to the Colorado State Electrical Board.
Such permit shall be posted on the site of the work and kept
there until the work is completed.
Section 4.That Chapter 14,Section 14.20.060 of the
Municipal Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,shall be
amended to read as follows:
14.20.060 Certificate of Approval Required.It is
unlawful for any person to make any electrical connection to any
building until the State Electrical Inspector has issued a
certificate approving the electrical wiring.
section 5.That Chapter 14,section 14.20.070 of the
Municipal Code of the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,shall be
amended to read as follows:

14.20.070 Permit-—Temporary.Where,from good and
sufficient cause,it is necessary to have electricity on any
installation before final certificate can be issued,the State
Electrical Inspector may issue a temporary permit provided that
all parts to which current is applied are in a safe and
satisfactory condition.
Section 6.The Board of Trustees of the Town of Estes Park,
Colorado,herewith finds,determines and designates that this
ordinance is necessary for their immediate preservation of the
public peace,health and safety,in order to provide for
electrical inspections in conformity with the Statutes of the
State of Colorado;and whereas,in the opinion of the Board
of Trustees,an emergency exists,this Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force immediately after its passage,adoption
and signature of the Mayor.
I hereby certify that the above ordinance was introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on the
