Minutes of the regular meeting held on July 12,1971,were read and
approved as read.
Trustee Marvin L.Steele introduced the following resolution and moved
it be passed and adopted:
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK,
COLORADO:
That the Mayor and Clerk are authorized and are hereby directed to
sign Contract No.14—06-713-93 by and between the Town of Estes Park
and the United States Department of Interior,Bureau of Reclamation.
This contract is a license for a tract of land to be used for recreational
purposes and)Rdjacent to the Estes Power Plant Gatehouse road.Trustee
Henry D.Dannels seconded the motion.Upon roll call the motion passed
by the following votes.Those voting “Yes”Trustees Gerald H.Brownfield,
Henry D.Dannels,Glenn Prosser,N.T.Petrocine,Marvin L.Steele,
Harry B.Tregent.Those voting “No”none.
The Clerk read a letter,dated July 22,1971,regarding violations of
Chapter 12 that have occured in Lone Pine Acres Addition to the Town of
Estes Park,Colorado.Trustee Gerald H.Brownfield introduced the
following entitled ordinance and moved it be passed and adopted on first
and final reading:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12.15-2 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE TOWN OF ESThS PARK,COLORADO,RElATING TO
BUILDING PERMITS.
Trustee Marvin L.Steele seconded the motion.Upon roll call the motion
passed by the following votes.Those voting “Yes”Trustees Gerald H.
Brownfield,Henry D.Dannels,N.T.Petrocine,Glenn Prosser,Marvin L.
Steele,Harry B.Tregent.Those voting “No”none.Whereupon Mayor Ronald
C.Brodie declared said ordinance duly passed and adopted and ordered it
numbered 16-71 and published according to law.
Trustee Gerald H.Brownfield introduced the following entitled ordinance
and moved it be passed and adopted on first and final reading:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 302 (a)OF THE UNIFORM
BUIIJJING CODE,VOLUME I,1970 EDITION,RElATING TO
ISSUANCE OF PERMITS.
Trustee Henry D.Dannels seconded the motion.Upon roll call the motion
passed by the following votes.Those voting “Yes”Trustees Gerald H.
Brownfield,Henry D.Dannels,N.T.Petrocine,Glenn Prosser,Marvin L.
Steele,1-larry B.Tregent.Those voting “No”none.Whereupon Mayor Ronald
C.Brodie declared said ordinance duly passed and adopted and ordered it
numbered 17-71 and published according to law.

A letter,dated July 19,1971,from Mr.Robert R.Diers,General Manager
of the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Recreation District regarding an addi
tional thirty year lease on the Stanley Park property,was read to the
Board of Trustees.Mayor Brodie referred this request to the Public
Works Conunittee for their recommendations.
A letter from the Town Attorney,dated July 22,1971,regarding that
strip of ground labeled “Private Ground’between U.S.Highway 34 and
the street labeled “Public Street”as shown on the plat of Lone Pine
Acres Addition to the Town of Estes Park,Colorado,was read to the
Board of Trustees.Trustee N.T.Petrocine moved that the sign ordinance
as it pertains to this piece of ground be enforced and that the Ford
Garage be contacted for voluntary compliance in the location of auto
mobiles.Trustee Glenn Prosser seconded the motion.Upon roll call the
motion unanimously carried.
Trustee Glenn Prosser,Chairman of the Estes Park Planning Commission
read the minutes of the meeting on July 20,1971.
Trustee Harry B.Tregent,Chairman of the Light and Power Committee,
reported on a Light and Power Committee meeting as itemized in the
minutes of July 21,1971,and moved that the minutes be approved and
adopted.Trustee Petrocine seconded the motion.Upon roll call the
motion unanimously carried.
The Council discussed the following items:
The first Vail Symposium on the role of the mountain resort
community.
New liquor license rules regarding special permits.
Yield to pedestrian signs.
Adequate maintenance of the Stanley Park ground by the
Recreation District.
Final subdivision plat of the Menard Resubdivision.
Joel Bacon request for a loading zone.
There being no further business,it was regularly moved,seconded and
carried that the meeting adjourn.
