Minutes of the regular meeting held April 13,1970,were read and approved
as read.
A letter,dated April 25,1970,from Mr.James 0.Conant regarding his
sixty (60)days notice of resignation as ambulance operator along with
his suggested changes in the ambulance agreement,was read to the Board
of Trustees.Mayor Ronald C.Brodie referred this letter to the Public
Safety Committee.
Mrs.Marge Stifel appeared before the Board of Trustees and spoke urging
them to accept Mr.Conant’s requests.
Bill Burgess,a student at the Estes Park High School,appeared before
the Board of Trustees and presented a petition asking the Town of Estes
Park to solve its solid waste disposal problem by January 1,1971.
Mr.Burgess stated that the students at the school were also interested
in a beautification program at the dump.
Mr.Hal Hancock,Reverend Fred King and Police Chief Ault appeared before
the Board of Trustees and described the goals and the reasons for the
formation of the Estes Park Student Assistance Association.This asso
ciation will need between six and nine thousand dollars for the 1970
year.As requested,Mayor Ronald C.Brodie appointed Trustee Glenn
Prosser to represent the Town of Estes Park in this association.
The Clerk announced that no bids had been received for the construction
of the recreation areaaljacent to Town parking lot number two (2).
The Clerk presented an application from Merl M.Morehead,dba Morehead’s
Super Market,1000 First Avenue,Estes Park,Colorado,for a renewal of
his 3.2%beer license.Trustee Henry fi.flannels moved the application
be approved.Trustee Glenn Prosser seconded the motion.Upon roll call
the motion passed by the following votes.Those voting “Yes”Trustees
Gerald H.Brownfield,Henry fi.flannels,N.T.Petrocine,Glenn Prosser,
Marvin L.Steele,Harry B.Tregent.Those voting “No”none.
Trustee Henry fi.flannels,Chairman of the Water Committee,reported on
a Water Connuittee meeting as itemized in the minutes of April 17,1970
and moved that the minutes be approved and adopted.Trustee Marvin L.
Steele seconded the motion.Upon roll call the motion unanimously
carried.
The Clerk read the minutes of the Estes Park Planning Commission meet
ing held April 21,1970.

Trustee Harry B.Tregent,Chairman of the Light and Power Committee,
reported on Light and Power Committee meetings as itemized in the min
utes of April 22 and 27,1970 and moved that the minutes be approved
and adopted.Trustee Gerald H.Brownfield seconded the motion.Upon
roll call the motion unanimously carried.
Trustee Marvin L.Steele,Chairman of the Public Works Committee,re
ported on a Public Works Committee meeting as itemized in the minutes
of April 24,1970.The paragraph pertaining to new copy for the
“Dark Horse Plaza”sign was stricken from the minutes.Trustee Steele
moved the remainder of the minutes be approved and adopted.Trustee
Harry B.Tregent seconded the motion.Upon roll call the motion unan
imously carried.
There being no further business,it was regularly moved,seconded and
carried that the meeting adjourn.
