RESOLUTION 18-91
WHEREAS,on July 23,1991 the Board of Trustees adopted
ordinance 15-91 pertaining to “containment”within the C-D
District.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF ESTES PARK,COLORADO:
That the following guidelines shall be adopted for the
“Surprise Sale Days”sponsored by the Special Event Department and
Estes Park Business Association,which is scheduled October 12 and
13,1991:
1.Hours of operation shall be:10:00 A.)!.—6:00 P.M.
2.The Sale Weekend is available to all Estes Park
businesses.
3.The Sale Weekend will be held rain or shine.
4.Businesses will be allowed to sell merchandise in front
of their store only during the hours specified above.
5.Each business will be allowed one (1)outside selling
space.
6.Sidewalk displays shall provide a minimum clearance of 4’
for pedestrian ways and handicapped accessibility.
Displays and/or merchandise will not be allowed in any
street.
7.Those merchants without sidewalk frontage may reserve a
space in Bond Park by contacting Linda Hinze at 586-6104.
8.Advertising posters will be provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that every business is urged to
participate in this sale weekend which will be essential toward
making the Surprise Sale an annual event.

RE:Surprise Sales Days October 12th &13th
FROM:Special Events Department,Town of Estes Park
Special Events Department and the Estes Park Business Association
are sponsoring a Surprise Sale Weekend to be held October 12th
and 13th.
Advertising of the Surprise Sale will he placed in front range
papers and the Estes Park Trail Gazette to invite shoppers to
take advantage of sale prices during the weekend.If you have a
customer mailing list you may also want to let them know of the
event.
Our hope is that you will plan to join the other merchants and
provide sales inside and/or outside your store.This is a good
time to reduce inventory.Restaurants can join in by providing
“specials”for lunch,motels by offering reduced rate for the
weekend.All businesses of Estes Park are asked to participate
in some way.
Arrangements have been made for a variance to enable the
businesses of Estes Park to hold the sale of merchandise on their
sidewalk on Ocotber 12th &13th.
Attached are the guidelines set by the Town of Estes Park and the
Estes Park Business Association for the sale weekend.Please be
sure to stay within these guidelines,as this must be an or
ganized and properly run event for the town.

Your enthusiasm,participation and cooperation in this weekend
