Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTION 16-9100RESOLUTION16-91WHEREAS,onAugust6,1991,anelectionwillbeheldontheInitiatedOrdinancefortheImplementationoftheStanleyHistoricDistrict,hereinafterreferredtoas(the“HistoricEstesInitiatedOrdinance”);andWHEREAS,onJuly23,1991,theBoardofTrusteesoftheTownofEstesPark,ColoradoadoptedanOrdinanceestablishingtheStanleyHistoricDistrict;andWHEREAS,itistheopinionoftheBoardofTrusteesthattheHistoricEstesInitiatedOrdinanceisnotanappropriatemeanstoprotectandpreservetheStanleyHotelcomplex;andWHEREAS,itistheopinionoftheBoardofTrusteesthattheTown’sStanleyHistoricDistrictOrdinanceistheappropriatedocumentfortheprotectionandpreservationoftheStanleyHistoricDistrict;andWHEREAS,contrarytotheprivateprocessthatwasusedinthedraftingoftheHistoricEstesInitiatedOrdinance,theTown’sStanleyHistoricDistrictOrdinancewasdraftedandreviewed,usingthepublichearingprocess,includingtwopublichearingsbeforetheEstesParkPlanningCommissionandtheTownBoard;andWHEREAS,allcitizensofEstesPark,includinglandownersintheStanleyHistoricDistrict,wereinvitedtoparticipateinthedraftingandreviewoftheTown’sStanleyHistoricDistrictOrdinance.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADO.1.TheBoardofTrusteeshasthisdayadoptedtheTown’sStanleyHistoricDistrictOrdinance,whichpreservesandprotectstheStanleyHotelpropertiesandalsopreservesandprotectsthelegalrightsofallprivatepropertyownerswithintheStanleyHotelDistrict.2.ItistheopinionoftheBoardofTrusteesthattheTown’sStanleyHistoricDistrictOrdinanceistheappropriatedocumentfortheadministrationoftheStanleyHistoricDistrictasitcontainsspecificprovisionsfortheprotectionandpreservationoftheStanleyHotelcomplex.
