Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTION 10-9700RESOLUTIONNO.10-97URGINGVOTERSUPPORTFORTHEFUNDINGOFTHELARIMERCOUNTYJUSTICECENTERWHEREAS,inNovember,1996,LarimerCounty(the“County”)soughtvoterapprovalofasalesandusetaxtofundthedevelopmentofnewjudiciallawenforcementandpublicsafetyfacilities,whichproposalwasrejectedbythevoters;andWHEREAS,theCountyhasrestructuredtheballotquestiontobepresentedtothevoterswithregardtothisissueandhasplacedontheNovember4,1997ballottwoseparateproposalswhich,ifapprovedbythevoters,wouldprovidefundingfortheconstructionofanewCountycourthouseandrelatedparkingfacilitiesinFortCollins,newcourthousefacilitiesinLoveland,andtheexpansionoftheLarimerCountyDetentionCenter;andWHEREAS,theBoardofTrusteesbelievesthatthepassageofbothoftheLarimerCountyballotproposalsisinthebestinterestsoftheresidentsoftheTownofEstesPark;andWHEREAS,whilerecognizingthattheproposednewCountyfacilitiesarenecessarytomeetapressingpublicneed,theBoardofTrusteesbelievesthattheincreasingneedforsuchfacilitiesiscreatedlargelybytherapidandsubstantialgrowthinpopulationthattheCountyhasexperiencedoverrecentyears,whichgrowthisanticipatedtocontinueandincreaseintheforeseeablefuture.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADO,asfollows:1.ThattheBoardofTrusteessupportsandendorsestheimprovementofpublicsafetyinLarimerCountybytheconstructionofnewjudicialfacilities,theexpansionoftheLarimerCountyDetentionCenter,andtheconstructionofaLovelandCourtsBuildingsoastobetterservetheneedsofcurrentandfutureresidentsofLarimerCounty.Passedandadoptedataregularmeetingheldonthe14thdayofOctober,1997. 00 aCTOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADO/MayorATTEST:‘---KQQTownClerkVrPiCrl 00
