Home My WebLink AboutRESOLUTION 14-0600RESOLUTION#14-06ARESOLUTIONAPPROVINGFUNDINGFORTHEAQUATICCENTERWHEREAS,theEstesValleyRecreationandParkDistrictandtheParkR-3SchoolDistricthaveanoperatingagreementfortheAquaticCenterthatexpiresDecember31,2006;and,WHEREAS,theRecreationDistrict’smilllevyforoperationsfailedin2005andtheParkSchoolDistrictfacesdecliningenrollmentandagingfacilities,thetwoentitiesareunabletofundtheoperationalcostsoftheAquaticCenter;and,WHEREAS,thetwoentitiesarecommittedtoelectionsinthefallof2006(school)andthefallof2007(EVRPD)forabondandmilllevyincreasetoprovidefundingforexpensesthatincludetheAquaticCenter;and,WHEREAS,theAquaticCenterisanimportantcommunityasset;and,WHEREAS,thetwoentitieshaverequestedassistancefromtheTownwithoperationcostfortheAquaticCenterforaneighteen-monthperiodfromJuly2006throughDecember2007;and,WHEREAS,theTowndesirestoassistthetwoentitieswiththeoperationalcostsfortheAquaticCenter.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADO:TheBoardofTrusteesherebyconsentstoprovidewaterandelectricsubsidizesatarateof80%forwaterand80%forelectricfortheremainderof2006and80%forwaterand80%forelectricin2007foratotalsubsidynottoexceed$45,000overthe18monthperiod.INTRODUCED,READ,andADOPTEDthisã5Thayof___________,2006.TOWNOFESTESPARKB-’ayorATTEST:TnClerk1 003,
