00RESOLUTIONNO.11-12ARESOLUTIONSUSPENDINGUTILITYFEESFORVICTIMSOFTHEWOODLANDHEIGHTSFIREWHEREAS,onJune23,2012,twenty-sevenEstesValleyresidentsweredevastatedbytheWoodlandHeightsfirethatdestroyedtheirhomesanddisplacedallofthosefamilieswhoarepartofourEstesParkcommunity;andWHEREAS,eachofthefamiliesaffectedbythisdevastatingeventareworkingtowardsrebuildingtheirhomesandtheirlivesduetotheunfortunateeventsoccurringonthatday;andWHEREAS,duetonofaultoftheirown,thesefamiliesarerequiredtocontinuetopayongoingexpensesfortheirhomesincludingwaterbillsandelectricbillseventhoughtheycurrentlyarenotstayingintheirhomes;andWHEREAS,theTownBoardofTrusteesservesastheBoardofDirectorsfortheTownofEstesPark’stwoutilitiesandhastheauthoritytomodifyelectricandwaterchargesunderspecialcircumstances;andWHEREAS,theTownBoardofTrusteeswishestoaideachofthesefamiliesintheirrebuildingeffortstobeginnewmemoriesandmoveforward.NOWTHEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARKasfollows:1.ThemonthlyminimumchargesforwaterandelectricityforthosehomesburnedintheWoodlandHeightsFireshallbesuspended.2.ThesuspensionoftheminimumchargesshallberetroactivetoJune23,2012.3.ThesuspensionofminimumchargesshallbeeffectiveuntilAugust1,2013,untilserviceisrestored,orbyfurtherorderoftheBoardofTrusteeswhicheverfirstoccurs.Datedthis23dayofOc4mhia_f,2012ATTEST:C—•.p00.-TjinClerkMayor1 0C)
