L)RESOLUTIONNO.33-13WHEREAS,theTownofEstesParkacknowledgesthattourismisthebasisoftheEstesParkeconomy,andpromotingtourismthrougheffectivemarketingiscriticaltocontinuedeconomicgrowthforEstesParkandtheentireNorthernColoradoRegion;andWHEREAS,tourismsupportsmorethanhalfofthejobsinEstesParkandgenerates$46.7millioninannualincomereceivedbythoseworkers;andWHEREAS,asmuchastwo-thirdsoftheTownofEstesPark’sgeneralfundsalestaxrevenuesresultfromvisitorspending,supportingcoremunicipalservices;andWHEREAS,theTownofEstesParkrecognizesthevaluableservicesprovidedbythelocalmarketingdistrictWisitEstesPark”--theofficialdestinationmarketingorganizationforEstesPark,aswellasforColorado’stoptouristattraction,RockyMountainNationalPark;andWHEREAS,werecognizethatvisitationtoEstesParkhasdroppedsignificantlyduetotheSeptemberfloodandassociatedroadclosures,andasaresult,VisitEstesParkwillreceivemuchlesslodgingtaxrevenuethanexpected;NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARK,COLORADOthattheTownherebysupportsVisitEstesPark’sgrantapplicationtosecurealternativefundinginsupportofitsoperationsandmarketingefforts,whicharecriticaltoourlocalandregionaleconomies.INTRODUCED,READ,ANDPASSEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARKonthisl2WdayofgCt,2013TOWOFESTESPARK,CORADOMayorATTEST:±NoO.TownClerk
