o0RESOLUTION28-13OFTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARKENCOURAGINGESTESPARKRESIDENTSANDBUSINESSESTOBUYLOCALLYANDUSELOCALBUSINESSESANDSERVICESWHENPRACTICALANDPOSSIBLEWHEREAS,thefloodingeventoftheweekofSeptember9,2013,hadasignificantnegativeimpactonlocalbusinesses;andWHEREAS,locallyowned,independentbusinessesareinnovatorsandcreatorsofthenextgenerationofproducts,paytaxes,providejobs,andcontributesignificantlytoourlocalcommunity;andWHEREAS,taxpayersprovidetherevenueneededtooperateessentialgovernmentservices;andWHEREAS,adiverseassortmentoflocalandindependentbusinessesprovideforamorestabletaxbaseandgenerallyrequirealesscostlyinfrastructure,therebyprovidingagoodreturnoninvestmenttolocalgovernment;andWHEREAS,supportinglocalbusinessesisinthebestinterestoftheTownofEstesParkresidentsandbusinessowners,becauseourlocalbusinessesarecriticaltomaintainingasocially,environmentally,andfinanciallysustainablelocaleconomy.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHEBOARDOFTRUSTEESOFTHETOWNOFESTESPARKasfollows:1.TheBoardofTrusteesoftheTownofEstesParkurgesallEstesParkresidentsandbusinessestoshareinthisefforttostrengthenourcommunity,buyinglocallyandusinglocalbusinessesandserviceswhenpracticalandpossible.PassedandadoptedParkthis93dayATTEST:pTownClerkataregularmeetingoftheBoardofTrusteesoftheTownofEstesofOctober,2013.
