APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH HIGH PLAINS EXCAVATING & AGGREGATE,
LLP, AND APPROVING CONTINGENCY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MALL
ROAD WATERLINE PROJECT
WHEREAS, after opening bids for the project referenced in the title of this
Resolution, the Town found High Plains Excavating & Aggregate, LLP, to the lowest
responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, Board wishes to contract with High Plains Excavating & Aggregate,
LLP, to construct the project; and
WHEREAS, the project will complete interconnection of the Town's water system
from Joel Estes Drive to Highway 34 thereby improving water quality and increasing ability
to provide fire protection along Mal Road; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board authorizes the Utilities Director to sign, without
additional Board action, change orders that total up to but do not exceed $536,000 or
approximately thirty percent of the construction contract value.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK, COLORADO:
The Board approves and authorizes the Mayor to sign the construction contract
referenced in the title of this resolution in substantially the form now before the Board,
including the contractors bid plus $536,000 contingency may be authorized through the
change order process and approved by the Utilities Director.
