HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTION OF RESPECT Younglund, Cindy 2026-03-24•i^^fs• jjg^Hy^^^ Office of the ]V[ayor, Estes Park, Colorado RESOLUTION OF RESPECT WHEREAS, Cindy Younglund served the citizens ofEstes Park as Trustee of the Town ofEstes Park from 2020 to 2026;and WHEREAS, Cindy participated in the community of Estes Park in numerous capacities through a variety of organizations including the Estes Area Lodging Association, the Estes Park Chamber of Commerce, and the Estes Park Wedding Association; and WHEREAS, during her tenure as Trustee, Cindy facilitated the revision, approval, increase, establishment, improvement, and/or implementation of the following: • Acquisition of the Thumb Open Space and Adoption of the Thumb Open Space Management Plan • Addition of the Sustainability Management Objective to the 2024 Strategic Plan • Adoption of the 2021 International Building Codes mcluding the Energy Conservation Code and the Property Maintenance Code • Adoption of the 2022 Model Traffic Code • Adoption of the Estes Forward Comprehensive Plan • Adoption of the Facilities Master Plan • Adoption of the Workforce Housing and Childcare Funding Plan and Policies • Completion of the Downtown Estes Loop • COVID-19 Safety Efforts, Outreach, and Relief Funding • Establishment of the Seasonal Paid Parkmg Program • Formation of the Envu-onmental Sustainability Task Force • Rebuilding and Improvements to the Prospect Mountam Water Distribution System • Renaming of the Jim Detterlme Memorial Climbing Wall • Renaming of the Women's Heritage Plaza • Support for Accessory Dwelling Unit Regulation Amendments to the Development Code * Support for Ballot Issue 1A to Extend the Additional 1% Sales Tax • Support for Ballot Issue 3A to Fully Debmce • Support for Ballot Issue 6E to Increase the Lodging Tax to Support Workforce Housmg and Childcare in the Estes Valley • Support for Childcare Needs Assessment and Strategic Plan • Support for the Colorado Opioid Abatement Council in Addressmg the Opioid Crisis • Support for the Community Wildfu-e Protection Plan • Support for Co-responder Programs • Support for Denouncmg Restrictive Covenants Based on Race or Religion • Support for the Downtown Wayfmding Signage Program • Support for Emergency Response for the Cameron Peak and East Troublesome Fires • Support for the Estes Valley Trails Master Plan, Trail System Expansion and Construction • Support for Expanding Community Accessibility and Transparency by Increasing ADA Compliance and Translation Services • Support for Process Improvement and Document Management Initiatives in Laserfiche to Improve Access to Town Records on the Public Records Portal • Support for the Relocation of the Police Department to a new Public Safety Facility • Support for Sister City Monteverde, Costa Rica Educational and Cultural Exchange Programs • Support for Vacation Home Regulation Amendments and Establishment of the Workforce Housing Regulatory Linkage Fee • Support for Various Workforce Housing Projects WHEREAS, Cindy served on the following groups/committees: Estes Park Board of Appeals, the Estes Park Sister Cities Association, Family Advisory Board, Parks Advisory Board, Police Auxiliary, and the Regional Opioid Abatement Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Town ofEstes Park, by this Resolution and Public Record, recognize the dedication and leadership of Cindy Younglund and express profound appreciation for her service to our community. •<SN<^_^- -f Gary Hall, Mayor ATTE< March 24, 2026
