Re: 441 Lakefront St., Estes Park, CO 80517 , solar rooftop installation, Keith Svancara
residence, kjsvancara@netscape.net, 970-586-3287
Scope of Work:
Installation of new 4380 watt solar electric system flush mounted on 2”x4” roof trusses, 1/2”
OSB plywood decking with composite shingle roof covering. PV panel array loading is applied to
the roof trusses by connection to Unirac SMLT railings which are mounted to Unirac “L” feet
attached to the roof trusses with Unirac Flashloc Comp kit flashings per the Unirac engineering
reports. Flashloc roof flashings are attached to trusses with included lag bolt and sealant
injection per manufacturer installation instructions. Unirac engineering report indicates 39”
maximum span, 8” maximum cantilever, for SMLT rails at specified service loading per ASCE 7-16,
Exposure Category C, Structural Occupancy Category II, roof wind zone 1 -2. Design meets
IBC/IRC2018, NEC 2000.
Roof flashings are mounted to every truss, mounted with a maximum span of 24”.
Conductor sizing based on 23A load, calculated at 25% overcurrent (4380W/240V *1.25=22.81A)
Service Loading:
Wind Zone (exposure category) C = 171 mph
Ground snow load 70 psf
Dead= 15PSF
Seismic Design Category B
The inspection of the building is determined to be adequate as constructed to accept the
anticipated service loadings from this solar panel installation. The increase in system gravity
dead loads will not change the service loading ratings of the roof.
