GENERAL NOTES:
1. EXISTING DECK BEAMS, POSTS, FOUNDATIONS ARE TO REMAIN UNCHANGED. EXISTING
DECKING, DECK JOISTS, AND RAILING ARE TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED.
2. NEW DECK JOISTS SHALL BE SOUTHERN YELLOW PINE #1 OR BETTER AND SHALL BE PRESSURE
TREATED.
3. DECKING SHALL BE 1x6 ENGINEERED COMPOSITE DECKING.
4. EXISTING DECK BEAMS SHALL BE INSPECTED WHEN EXISTING DECKING IS REMOVED AND IF
DETERIORATION IS NOTED, THE BEAMS SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH EQUAL SIZE AND PRESSURE TREATED
LVL MATERIAL WITH 2.0E MINIMUM STRENGTH DESIGNATION.
5. ADD SIMPSON H2.5 AT EACH JOIST TO DROPPED BEAMS AND FULL DEPTH BLOCKING BETWEEN JOISTS
OVER DROPPED BEAMS.
6. SIMPSON CONNECTION HARDWARE SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THE RECOMMENDED SIMPSON CONNECTOR
SIZES AND QUANTITIES (NAILS, SCREWS, BOLTS) AS LISTED IN THE SIMPSON WOOD CONSTRUCTION CONNECTOR MANUAL.

ALL APPLICABLE MUNICIPAL CODES & ORDINANCES
