Our construction materials testing (CMT) / quality control (QC) services will include but not limited to observation and testing of the foundation system (i.e. continuous spread footing and isolated pads), cast-in-place concrete foundation reinforcement and concrete testing, interior floor slab reinforcement and concrete testing, concrete masonry unit periodic observations and testing services, backfill placement for foundation wall backfill, subgrade preparation for interior and exterior flatwork and pavement areas, (i.e., subgrade, aggregate base course and hot mix asphalt sections), foundation reinforcement observations for grade beams/foundation walls and columns prior to placement of concrete, and visual observations and testing services of steel erection, weld and bolt connections and fireproofing observations. We understand as part of the on-site improvements and CMT/QC services performed by EEC personnel, the Town of Estes Park is requiring certifications, resumes and qualifications of our services. It should also be noted that EEC has worked directly with and/or in association with the Town of Estes Park primarily with Mr. Greg Muhonen, P.E., and Mr. Kevin Ash, P.E. on various roadway improvements projects, most recently the Dry Gulch Roadway improvements as well as the recently completed Aspire Wellness Center adjacent the Stanley Hotel. Mr. Wiechert specializes in soil mechanics and commonly is involved in foundation design, roadway design, asphalt and concrete mix designs, slope stability, dam and embankment design, retaining wall design, and the use of alternative materials for soil stabilization. Duties included managing all aspects of the soils and materials lab operations, performing extensive testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt as well as performing various field inspections including caisson and footing inspections, reinforcing steel inspections, drain inspections, open excavation inspections, masonry inspections, welding inspections, fireproofing inspections and testing, and limited framing inspections. He also has experience in field drilling operations including drilling, sampling, and logging of soil strata as well as field experience with concrete and asphalt sampling and testing.
