To Whom it May Concern:
This letter is to certify that I, David A. Bangs (or an employee under my direct supervision) being a duly
licensed engineer in the State of Colorado have reviewed the structural design modifications for the
above referenced project.
In the instances that deck joists meet the ledger at a vent opening, joists are to be tapered cut to a
minimum heel height of 4 ½”. Joists shall be fixed to the ledger with (2)L angles. Ledgers may have 4”
bore holes without further action. On future installations, it is acceptable to terminate the ledger on
either side of the vent opening.
