DID YOU KNOW the Town of Estes Park first adopted a zone code with Ordinance 115 in 1947? This code had
three zone districts: Residential, Commercial, and Unclassified. The building official was charged with
administration. Lots of 10,000 square feet and larger were allowed two dwellings per lot. Letting of rooms was
allowed. Minor sign regulations were included. The Board of Adjustment was created. The code was eight pages
long, and was amended four times before being replaced in 1955. (The Planning Commission was created May
9, 1955. Charles Hix was one of the first members.)
A meeting packet is available for review in the Community Development Department and the Estes Valley Library two business days
prior to the meeting.
The Estes Valley Planning Commission reserves the right to consider other appropriate items not available at the time the agenda
was prepared,
