The Executive Committee then informed Dr. Durward that he could use the arena after 6:00 p.m. subject to a $200 rental fee and use of the box seats remaining with the season ticket holders. The policy regarding season box seat purchases in the past has been that the purchase covered all shows/events. Dr. Durward did not agree with the policy and wants control of the sales receipts of the box seats for the Scottish Highland Festival event. The Committee discussed at considerable length the policy and its application and effect on future activities at Stanley Park. The Committee concluded that the number and variety of events at Stanley Park will continue to increase and that in some cases, it would not be reasonable nor beneficial to Stanley Park to continue to have season box seat purchases cover all types o! events at Stanley Park. Craig Bigler then moved that the Horse Show and Rodeo Committee recommend the following policy to the Stanley Park Committee: Events held at Stanley Park not directly related to Horse Show and Rodeo performances shall be reviewed and considered on an individual basis as to whether or not current sales of season box seats cover such events, and if not, then the option of box seats sales receipts going to the sponsor with a percen- tage of the gate receipts going to Stanley Park shall be con- sidered. Rick Russell seconded the motion and it unanimously passed. Craig Bigler then moved that the Horse Show & Rodeo Committee recommend that the Scottish Highland Festival be permitted to use the grandstand and arena areas after 6:00 p.m. on September 6, 1986, that the receipts from the box seat sales go to the sponsor of the event, that the gate receipts percentage be waived, and that a $200 rental fee be assessed. The motion was seconded and carried. Membership and Committees: A list of the proposed Horse Show and Rodeo Committee appointments needs to be submitted to the Stanley Park Committee. It was moved, seconded and carried that those members who have moved away or have been inactive on the Commit- tee for one year or more not be recommended for reappointment. President Rick Dill read the proposed committee assignments which will also be submitted to the Stanley Park Committee and asked that any desired changes be made known to him as soon as possi- ble. Horse Show Contracts: Arabian Contract - Rene Martig reported that she met with rep- resentatives of the Arabian Horse Show and thought they seemed quite enthusiastic about 1986's show in Estes Park. After re- viewing the proposed Arabian Horse Show Contract for performances during June 28 - July 6, 1986, it was moved, seconded and carried that the contract be recommended for approval.
