STATEMENT OF INTENT
PART ONE
Kids Unplugged,a family “edutainment”center is a pay—for—play indoor
playground that provides interactive educational,aerobic,muscular andsensorydevelopment.There are no arcades,no videos,no technological
ginricks or virtual reality equipment.Simply,Kids Unplugged offerschildrenaplacewithtoolstheyneedtocreatetheirownmagical
worlds,where their imaginations rule and they can develop their minds,
souls and bodies.The center will include:
1.A soft modular playgound is connected by slides,web flooring,ball bins,a trolly,belly crawl,bungee forest,cave climb,club house,
mazes,swing,rope climb and much more.The design will have multiple
path options and reasonably quick access to an exit.Construction ofplayeventsandflooringallowsseatedparentstoeasilywatchtheirchildrenatplay;or join in play.
2.A Toddler Village play area for children up to 4 years of agewillbestagedwithsoftmodularplayequipmentdesignedforsmaller
bodies so they may enjoy a real sense of autonomy and self—esteem.Areawillalsoincludecozycoupecars,a playhouse,and various toys.
3.A partyroom/classroom will be available for birthday parties andspecialoccasions.“Mommie and Me”classes will also be available alongwithclassesorfunctionsfortheolderyouth.
4.Board game tournaments will be offered for prizes andrecogniton.Games include Monopoly,Chess,Checkers etc.
5.A Stage area will be offered for dress—up,story times,magicacts,puppets,and Santa Claus’visit and other popular visitors.
6.Learning exhibit area will promote reading,math,science,spelling,environmental issues,sports and fitness,volunteering,and
much more to encourage our youth to study,and appreciate the value of
Knowledge.Will coordinate with the school to develop a partnership.
7.Snack Bar:counter top convection only.Serving drinks,pretzels,pizza,hotdogs,ice cream,etc.
The designing of the interior of Kids Unplugged is being performed by
Renee Barnes,President of Benree Designs International.She hasdesignedprojectsfortheMarriotthotels.independent resorts,
Disneyland,McDonalds,universities and casinos.The Soft Modular Play
equipment will be provided by Prime Play who scored the world’s largest
mall in Edmonton Canada with Galaxy Kids.

1.Suitability:location is ideal for indoor space requirements,is on
main highway with adequate parking.There are 65 parking spacesavailable.Industry trends and a market feasability study suggests that
8—10 carloads of children will arrive per hour with a majority playing
an average of 2.15 hours before exiting;approximatley 20—25 spaces will
be utlized out of the 65 available per day.

This will NOT be a drop off center.A parent or guardian must accompanytheirchildren.Interactive play between children and their parents
provides a sense of security for their children and a deeper parent—child relationship.Not only will Kids Unplugged serve the children in
the comunity but the many visitors.This indoor play center will beavailableforparties,re—unions,fund—raisers and special competitions.
Sales are expected to be good through out the year.

p.m.in the Board Room (Room 130)of the Municipal Building,170
MacGregor Avenue,Estes Park,Colorado,the Planning Commission will
consider a Special Review for the property and purpose described below.
Also on Tuesday,February 10,1998 at 7:30 p.m.in the Board Room
(Room 130)of the Municipal Building,the Town Board of Trustees will
conduct a public hearing on this request.
