RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS / Administrative Committee September 14, 1984 Committee: Chairman Hix, Trustees Graves and Laing Attending: Chairman Hix, Trustees Graves and Laing Also Attending: Mayor Dannels, Town Administrator Hill, Finance Officer Vavra, Mel Busch, Hary Neely, Ed Pohl, Bob Joseph, Edna Green, Ted Schmidt, Clerk O'Connor 1985 BUDGET REQUESTS: The Committee reviewed and discussed the budget requests for 1985 from the following agencies: Mel Busch/Museum - The amount requested for 1985 is $39,360 which is up 18.9% from 1984 ($33,100). The request includes increasing a staff person's salary based upon 70% of time for ten months with an annual wage of $12,000; contract wages covering weekends during May - September at $4.00/hour, and additional contract work as needed. Hary Neely/Larimer County Human Development - The amount requested for 1985 is $6,000 which is the same amount that was requested for 1984. Services have been expanded; however, they have requested no increase in funds. An estimated total of contacts is 12,000 with 66% within the Town, 24% in the County and 10% transient. Ed Pohl/Estes Park Urban Renewal Authority - The 1985 budget request is $1,459,430 which is to be finananced in part by the 1% Sales Tax. Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) - In a letter dated August 13, 1984, the R.S.V.P.'s 1985 request was $1,250.00. Their 1984 request was $1,000. R.S.V.P. serves as a volunteer coordinating service to match the skills of retirees to the needs of local community agencies. Estes Park Senior Citizen's Center - A letter dated August 10, 1984 was submitted requesting a $5,000 allocation for 1985. Last year's 1984 request was $3,800. They have also expanded services. Edna Green, Ted Schmidt/Estes Park Public Library - The Library has requested a 10% increase for 1985 thus making the total $166,666. Budget request priorities are: upgrading staff salaries, adding one part-time entry-level staff person, increasing another staff person's hours from 24 to 40, make improvements to the existing building and increasing the materials budget by 10%.
