HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Wage and Salary Committee 1969-09-04RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS September 4, 1969 WAGE AND SALARY COMMITTEE Chairman: Petrocine, Trustees Dannels and Tregent Also attending: Town Administrator Hill The following subjects were discussed by the Committee and it is re- commended to the Board of Trustees that they be added to the existing rules and regulations: SICK LEAVE: The Department head may require a Doctor's certificate for employee sick leave in excess of two days. Sick leave shall be defined as pertaining to the employee only and if the employee must be absent from work to care for family illness, the time off shall be charged to annual leave or leave without pay. ANNUAL LEAVE -FISCAL YEAR: The Town of Estes Park will use the fiscal year beginning July 1st of one year and ending on June 30th of the following year for the purpose of accounting for annual leave. The first year's employment of perma- nent employees may be pro -rated for the purpose of figuring annual leave. EMPLOYEES OVER AGE 65: Department heads may be authorized to continue employment past the age of 65 with the permission of the Board of Trustees. Employees may be authorized to continue employment past age 65 by re- commendation of the respective committee to the Board of Trustees. OVERTIME PAY: Overtime costs have been increasing at a rate that concerns this Com- mittee. This Committee recommends all department committees review the overtime policies. Department heads will be requested to make sugges- tions for possible new overtime policies. HOLIDAY WORK: All employees working on holidays will be compensated by compensatory time off. Department heads will approve the compensatory time taken. RETIREMENT: Employees will be allowed to take accumulated annual leave upon regular retirement. VOLUNTARY TERMINATION: Voluntary termination will result in the cancellation of all accrued annual leave unless at least thirty (30) days written notice is given between the dates of October 1st and May 1st.
