PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY 1. BUDGET 2. COUNCIL'fj INFORMATIONAL MEETING SEPTEMBER 29 Verbal discussion. Probably no formal action will be necessary at this time STANBY POWER MODULE Due to the power fluctuation the past month, our computer has been down twice. We had to call the repairman both times to bring the system up, which involved over one day each time. Due to the power failures during the processing of the utility bills, the files were corrupted which involved having Bobbie to come up to fix the file, total cost $3,350. To avoid the inconvenience of the computer being down and the expense of future programming, I asked the NCR repairman what can be done, a Standby Power Module (SPM). NCR has a SPM that is a battery pack that will keep theunit at full power for up to seven minutes. Price is $1,295. To protect the system completely, we could purchase a second smaller unit for $800 that would be connected to the cash register and the control terminal so we could exit any program and power down normally during a prolonged outage. TOTAL COST $2,100.00 4. 94 - Of j 4t o< COMPUTER BIDS: IBM XT unit with enhanced keyboard, 512K updated to 64OK, 2-360K disk drives, monochromedisplay, 3.2 DOS: Pioneer 2,400.00 / 6 71(, Sperry 2,473.00 ~2»f IBM 2,670.00 Pratts 3,232.42 >'~~,0 NCR 2,286.00*does not meet specs.
