In addition to a very full program for conference delegates, there are also many other activities planned for non-delegates (spouses and children). Attached is an invitation to non-delegates, from Ms. Mary Shea of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, chairperson of non- delegates activities. All conference attendees, delegates and non- delegates, are invited to two very special events: a "Hollywood Premiere Party" at the historic Park Plaza building; and the President's Luncheon in the ballroom of the Westin Bonaventure, Wednesday noon, May 8 which will feature political satirist, Mark Russell. Please pass this information along to interested non-delegates. Registration forms for the conference, and to reserve a hotel room are included. I hope to see you in Los Angeles. -- Alex Radin AR/bo Encl. 2301 MSTREETNW/WASHIN GTON, DC 20037/202-7 75-8 300 1 2/·'*lift [4~. ; 1 4 AMERICAN PUBLIC POWER ASSOCIATION .. 2301 M STREET NW WASHINGTON DC 20037•202/775-8300 February 25, 1985 Dear Non-Delegate: You are cordially invited to attend the American Public Power Association's 1985 Annual National Conference to be held May 6-8 in Los Angeles, California. We are delighted that Los Angeles has been selected as the site for this year's conference and are making plans to ensure an enjoyable visit for you. The actual conference featuring such nationally prominent speakers as Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, management author Dr. Robert Lorber, CBS-TV correspondent Charles Kuralt, nationally syndicated economics writer Hobart Rowen, and others begins Monday, May 6. All non-delegates are encouraged to attend the opening general session along with conference particinants. So that you will be able to fully enjoy what Los Angeles has to offer, a full non-delegates program has been planned for you. Plan to dress casually and wear comfortable walking shoes. Midday Los Angeles temperatures average 65-70 degrees during the month of May. The non-delegates program includes continental breakfasts on Monday and Wednesday mornings and lunch on Tuesday afternoon. While visiting the home of many of the major motion picture, television, and recording industries, you will be able to tour Universal Studios, visit the Music Center, star gaze in Hollywood, and shop in Beverly Hills. You will also be able to sample the international flavors of Olvera Street (birthplace of L.A.), Chinatown, and Little Tokyo. On Tuesday evenings May 7, a Hollywood Premiere party will be held at the historic Park Plaza building. You may pose for photos with celebrity look-alikes, watch "Hollywood Follies", enjoy a buffet, and dance to a full orchestra. The 1985 conference will conclude with the APPA President's reception and luncheon at noon on Wednesday, May 8. Political satirist, Mark Russell, formerly host of television's "Real People" and now appearing regularly on PBS, will be the guest star. We look forward to hosting you in Los Angeles this May.
