Meeting held in the Town Hall in said Town of Estes Park on the 14th day of April, 2009. Meeting called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Levine. Present: Chuck Levine, Mayor Pro Tem Trustees Eric Blackhurst Dorla Eisenlauer Richard Homeier Jerry Miller Also Present: Greg White, Town Attorney Lowell Richardson, Deputy Town Administrator Jackie Williamson, Town Clerk Absent: William C. Pinkham, Mayor John Ericson, Trustee Jacquie Halburnt, Town Administrator Mayor Pro Tem Levine called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all desiring to do so, recited the Pledge of Allegiance. PUBLIC COMMENT. Kellsie Purdy/2007 Estes Park Rodeo Queen stated she is competing for 2009 Colorado Rodeo Queen. She presented a speech to be delivered during the competition on "Why President Obama should visit Estes Park." Irene Little/Co-Chair for the League of Women Voters Recycling Group provided an update on the CAST Resuable Bag Challenge. There are over 27 Towns involved, 8 local businesses and 8,612 reusable bags used in March. She reported the Town and RMNP cooperative residential cardboard recycling program was a success and recycled 80 cubic yards; however, the main concern remains commercial recycling of cardboard. The Estes Park Observatory's grand opening would be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. David Habecker/Town Resident stated the public has not been given the opportunities to speak on all agenda items. He voiced concern with the inclusion of the YMCA in the fire district because the organization continues to seek tax exemption as a charitable organization. He commented recent items discussed at study sessions should be discussed at board meetings. He again requested the Town Board refrain from reciting the 'under God' Pledge of Allegiance at Board meetings. TOWN BOARD COMMENTS. Mayor Pro Tem Levine congratulated RMNP on the passage of the Wilderness Bill and the recent celebration held in Estes Park by the Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar. 1. CONSENT AGENDA: 1. RESOLUTION #0000 — APPROVAL OF COOT TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT CONTRACT. DinactorZunn stated the Town has received a roadway enhancement grant o| $200,000 through the Upper Front Range Regional Transportation area with a $50.000 match budgeted by the Town for2000. The funds were awarded specifically for enhancement through beautification and pedestrian improvement along Moraine Ave. between Elkhorn Ave. and Rockwell Et.
