Labor: Duell or Boles usually are assigned to locations. Duell $6.16 hr. Boles 6.47 hr. 12.63 hourly wages -1 2 - $6.32 average hourly wages. 6.32 average hourly wage x 34 % benefits 2.15 hourly cost of benefits + 6.32 average hourly wage $8.47 total average hourly costs x .75 normal location time (3/4 hour) 6.35 total labor cost 2. Vehicle: Rough estimate from shop to furthest point is 5 miles one way x 2 for return trip = 10 miles 6 2 for average call = 5 miles round trip x $.50 a mile = $2.50 vehicle charge. 3. Equipment: A new locator costs $1,500 with an estimated life of five years for an annual cost of $300. $300 4 260 scheduled work days per year = $1.15 per day.depreciation on locator. Although more than one location may be accomplished a day, using $1.15 each brings the total to an even $10.00 for our costs.
