MEMORANDUM TO: Public Safety Committee FROM: Dave Racine DATE: February 24, 1992 RE: Patrol Car Bids Two bids were received for patrol cars meeting our specs., they were: ~ Rains Motor Co. -1270.5170<49.1,27-i- Burt Chevrolet $27,317.14 exte/2 Mr. Shanafelt advises that both cars meet specs and that he has no preference. As the 2% local allowance brings these bids within dollars, and we prefer the ford, we recommend granting the bid to Rains Motor Co. 92- 1 6-0 [KFTENFEI ~ FEB 25 122 ~ j 2 TUWN OF ESTES PARK • ; BOARD OF TR~T~ES~~ £*%0, ,•. 6 ..04*A MEMORANDUM TO: The Town Board FROM: Public Safety Committee DATE: February 24, 1992 RE: Award of Patrol Car Bids The Public Safety Committee meeting scheduled for February 27, 1992, has been canceled, due to a conflict of scheduling with committee members. As it is beneficial to award these bids in a timely manner, the Committee advises that it has reviewed the bids and recommends awarding the patrol car bids to Rains Motor Company, in the amount of $27,900.52. The Committee recognizes that this is the higher of the two bids received, but has taken into consideration the 2% local allowance and the fact that these vehicles will be delivered in Estes Park, and so save the personnel costs involved in transporting the vehicles from Denver to our shops. MEMORANDUM TO: Polly Garrett, Chairman Public Safety Committee FROM: Chief Racine DATE: January 28, 1992 RE: Permission to open bid for police vehicles I am hereby polling the committee for permission to open bids for police cars. I am utilizing this procedure because we would like time to complete the bidding process, and award bids during the February Public Safety Committee meeting. Time is a factor due to the fact that state bids close April 1, 1992, and I anticipate being out of town the later part of March. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
