TOWN OF ESTES PARK Estes Park, CO 80517 I have had several calls from parents and concerned drivers about the lack of a cross walk at the corner of Manford and Community just below the grade school. There is a stop sign there and there is a bike and walking lane on the south side of Manford Avenue leading up to the stop sign. A cross walk painted on the street might let the drivers know where to stop and might encourage them to look for pedestrians more closely at that spot. We have had some youngsters walking to school down Manford avenue on the north side which is facing the traffic (on the rodeo grounds side) and then having a problem crossing Manford when they get to the intersection to cross and come on up to the elementary school. There is no crosswalk there either. I just wanted to bring this to your attention to see if there is anything that needs to be done to reduce the chance that a child would be hurt crossing the street at that point. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you in this matter.
