Roxanne West - she was told there would be between 15 and 20 people she was put to work doing something she wasn't sure how to do If necessary, extra doctors could come in via helicopter Rob Mardock - Had problems with his evaluator. - his evaluator kept saying "what you see is what you get" well he would get a pulse or someone would say "No Pulse". Confusion as to who is in charge was overwhelming People worried about little things and forgot big things Tried repeatedly to call hospital upon arrival at scene - no answer No answer at P.D. either NICHOLS Didn't even see some of the patients k Dr. Katzin was available but never received a page- should possibly use another method -Lab staff in future should come out and ASK " What is blood situation?" Jim Hoyne - He was asked to keep people out of the area that didn't belong but he didn't have anyway of knowing just who didn't belong there. Suggested arm bands. Suggested tagged victims be sectioned off and sectioned according to tag color. Judy No man power - patients were walking around in a circle Paglia could help out with man power if necessary. Physicians were said to have been called in at 4:50 p.m. Quicker evaluations needed Phone other doctors X-ray stuff was a mess FIRE No command Center was set up - they did not work hand in hand with other agencies. They need a command center. Ambulance was tied up being a command center Jim Watson - Kids should have been further away from bus EMT went well - couple of tags got messed up - yellow - r-ed- black Jack Rumley - Faulty radio communications - took awhile to realize you can't make Drake to Dry Gulch in 312 minutes. COMMUNICATION is a real problem - CSP should not do Communications - it was a real problems. Jim & Chief Rumleyls. radios were not utilized - 4 , NANCY Implement Disaster Plan- should be a code instead of a voice over the loudspeaker at the hospital saying "IMPLEMENT DISASTER PLAN" this scares all the. patients. Need a physician in x-ray until radiologist got there Space problems Bob Kel bel Impressed with overall mock disaster but: - Nobody had attempted to disconnect bus battery - one student with chest wound and glass sticking out of chest had the glass removed - SHOULD NEVER REMOVE OBJECT student didn't know who removed it. -one student with glass in forehead-this was also removed-NO NO -Emergency room did not thoroughly check patient with glass , he had two pieces of glass in him when exercise was over. Lt. Elste No place designated to put 30 - 50 sets of parents No one knew where to send them Needed two men per road block instead of one Short on information - what to tell people Information should be transmitted from hospital to roadblocks so they know what to tell parents showing up at scene More interdepartmental communication within hospital runners were not used to full advantage Jean Orange vests - label runners with orange vests was a suggestion -Lab was left out- Need more departmental coordination- if they would of known greeley was coming, they would have asked for blood. Other Dr's should get involved. Lana Suggested nurse go to scene to get an idea of what needs to be coordinated back at the hospital. Yellow Tag - Ambulance Transportation Green Tag - Walking Transportation Red Tag - Critical Black Tag - Fatality Should assign nursets to colors Mariann Thought it was awkward without physicians Need an easy access to hospital area A casting room would be advantageous RMNP Observed that agencies response time was excellent said 2 or 3 people were asking who was in charge at the scene Need a command post on scene Need an Incident Commander A staging area-Stand by area to cut down congestion Good response of Fire Department - delay of 11 or 12 minutes to wash down gas spill - a box of cribbing to stabilize bus was never used. Suggest Triage on the scene EMT's unsure at times -.Triage coordinate to help coordinate colors . .. David : Police Department should notify necessary agencies that roadblocks are secure and the area that is secured as soon as Dossible. Physician availability reported in early No communication from scene of accident Patients should have been seen by a triage first before taken to a physician Avoid using real supplies - very expensive - try to conserve Karen had no communication Kids in hall were freezing - hall was too congested Chief Will get together for a tabletop discussion in the near future Tony Paglia - Someone needs to account for how many got on the bus and how many got off. Where was the bus enroute to? Way too many people there early. Not enough room for response vehicles. Need better communication with School Office Pat on the back to Ambulance service response time - .20 seconds. Misc. Why weren't Glen Haven Notified?4: 4*·~ Compound fracture student was 2nd to last person to be removed (by Helicopter) Suggestion: Severe Bleeding is as important as broken bones.
