TOWN of ESTES PARK Inter-Office Memorandum May 1, 2007 TO: Public Works Committee FROM: Dave Mahany SUBJECT: Budgeted 2007 Loader Bi-Annual Exchange (G70C) Background: The Streets Department budget includes $20,000.00 (Acct. 101-3100-431-34-43 / p. 147) for the Large Loader (G70C - 2005 John Deere 544J) rollover agreement every two years with John Deere. This exchange program was offered to the Town of Estes Park during the original purchase of the loader in 2001. We exchanged the loader in July 2003 and 2005; the exchange is due in 2007. Cost/Budget: Cost: • Tohn Deere Loader Exchange - Colorado Machinery, Ft. Collins, CO. 2007 John Deere 544J 4x4 Loader Exchange Price = $15,279.00 Trade-in: 2005 John Deere 544J 4x4 Loader Budget: $20,000.00 (Acct: 101-3100-431-34-43 / p-147) Costs: $15,279.00 Action: Staff recommends: Continuing the two year rollover exchange agreement w/John Deere and exchanging the Large Loader (G70C) for a new John Deere 544J Loader for a cost of $15,279.00 from Colorado Machinery, Ft. Collins, CO.
