TOWN OF ESTES PARK Inter-Office Memorandum Date: February 15, 2005 TO: Public Works Committee FROM: Bill Linnane 04/ SUBJECT: Hydro Plant Picnic Grounds Shelter Background: Staff budgeted funds for an open-air/concrete pad-type of picnic shelter similar to the YMCA shelter we used for the Town's summer picnic. Classic Recreation Systems Inc. manufactures a variety of shelter types and the attached pictures are examples of the structures available. The attached aerial view shows the approximate location of two 30-ft. x 30-ft. outdoor shelters. The location is the flattest area available and still outside of the 50-ft. setback requirement. The shelters require a concrete pad and installation is fairly simple. Will Birchfield will assist with the building permit. The preferred vendor is G.R. Marolt and Associates out of Englewood, Colorado. They have a wide selection of models and the quality is very good. A brochure will be available at the committee meeting showing the colors and models available, as well as the quality of their products. Cost/Budget: Budget 2005: $40,000 - Shelter $15,000 - Road upgrade Cost: $24,590 - Two 30-ft. x 30-ft. shelters @ $12,295 each ("Mesa" model, refer to brochure picture) - 10,000 - Concrete 8,000 - Installation Shelter cost estimate: $42,590 Road cost: 5,000 - In-house grading and road base Total cost: $47,590 Action: Staff requests approval to solicit prices and return to committee for approval. This is caused by steel mill tolerances, variations in the substrate and relative reflectivity of the material. "Oil canning" is an inherent characteristic of steel products, not a defect, and therefore is not a cause for panel rejection. back to top GALLERY [ REQUEST LITEUTURE | COLOR /WARRANTIES ~ Company Profile I Architectural I Commercial Retrofit Systems 1 Download Cad/Specs I Gallerv Whats New I Contact Info AEP-Span 5100 East Grand Avenue P.O.
