Dear Mr. Widmer: Member On March 20, 1987, the Colorado Board of Parks and Outdoor Recreation approved priority rankings for 10 projects submitted for FY 88 Land and Water Conservation Fund grants. The fund amount approved for these projects was $501 ,375. This allocation is tentative because it depends on a federal budget allocation for FY 88. At this point, the Reagan Administration has not requested funding for the state side of this program, however, we are working with state and national organizations to get funding restored to the budget. The total number of projects competing for this allocation was 79, for a total statewide funding request of $9 ,477,918 Your·project, W. Riverside Park IV, was ranked #3 out of the 10 approved projects. The amount approved, subject to a federal appropriation, was $60,000. If and when a federal allocation is made, we will proceed down the list of priorities and fund as many projects as possible. IN ORDER NOT TO JEOPARDIZE THE FEDERAL GRANT FOR THIS PROJECT, DO NOT PROCEED WITH IT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE FURTHER NCI'IFICATION FROM THIS OFFICE. THIS SHOULD OCCUR EARLY IN 1988. If you should have any questions about this allocation, or the LWCF program in general, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, A 2*Luttf Ralph Schell Statewide Programs Supervisor RS:gs cc: Ron Holliday Max Vezzani Nancy Peters Don West
