The replacement would be a high efficiency gas furnace, which would require additional duet, registers, grilles, and pipe to include areas now heated by electric baseboard. Public Service Company of Colorado recently conducted a Business Energy Audit on the Chamber of Commerce building, at 500 Big Thompson Ave., which indicated that installation of new heating equipment would result in substantial savings in heating costs. These savings should, in a relatively short period of time, justify the investment in conversion. On the advice of Mr. Dale Hill, the Energy Audit was given to Mr. Bob Decker, of Town Light and Power, to review. After review, Mr. Decker indi- cated that he could find no good reason to advise the Chamber of Commerce not to convert to natural gas. In light of this, the Chamber requests written permission to proceed with the conversion. Thank you. Sincerely yours, 4 r/41/.%1~.UL(#(14. c v- -' 'lf,)<UU/6+ V Andrew L. Box 1200 ·L.., Ji. ..I i,f ;/1 7 fl Estes Park, Co. 80517 qi# AU 3 7, -, 1986 11/111 317 Dear Mr. Widmer: OF ESTES PARK FUE}LIC VORKS DEPT, We received your letter regarding the possibility of acquiring a 50 foot wide street right-of-way for construction of a paved, city-maintained street. We appreciate that the town of Estes Park has a serious traffic problem. The traffic congestion in the downtown area, especially during the summer months, convinces us that putting a road through our property would only transfer the terrible traffic problem to us. Our cabin is of value to us because of the quiet, peaceful, natural environment. Some wildlife still finds refuge there. With a major street on the property and thousands of cars passing by each day, all of this would be lost. If the town of Estes Park considers the need for our property a serious one, the only alternative we might consider would be the purchase of the entire property. The property would be worth- less to us with a major thoroughfare running by our front door; therefore, we are not interested in selling a 50 foot wide street right-of-way to the city. Thank you. sincerely, _ / Ellen Viens Stanley F. Viens John Bermingham Rita Bermingham Code No. 518 ESTES PARK, COLORADO ASS.I...SIAN.I- W-R_E.CIQ.R.. c).E e..Will=...1.Q. W.QRK_S.
