Box 1200 Estes Park, CO , 80517 Dear Committee Members Presented here for your review is the amended proposed budget for 1993 of the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park. Attached, also, is a copy of the proposal to be presented at our December 8th meeting that has to do with the generation of funds outside of Town government. A copy of "Holiday '92" activities is also presented for your review. While the members and officers of CACEP are aware of future budget constraints, financial support of this organization is more important, now, than ever before. In a previous presentation to this Committee, there was a review of ongoing activities and projects. To strenthen the existing harmonies within the arts community and to provide a financial base for new growth and the maintenance of a strong established cultural program for the Estes valley, we request the amount of $7500.00. Box 1200 Estes Park, CO 80517 Dear Committee Members Attached for your review is a copy of Cultural Arts Council Executive Direc- tor Lynda Vogel's letter to the Town Trustees outlining the accomplishments of the Arts Council for 1992. This was also an attachment to our 1993 budget request to the Town. An outgrowth of the community forum held on October 8 regarding the future of the Cultural Arts Council was the formation of a task force comprised of members of the Arts Council (including representation from the Art Center of Estes Park) and members of the arts community at large. The charge of this task force was to develop a document which included a broad mission statement, benefits to be realized by member organizations and the community, a list of examples of the kinds of activities such an organization should undertake as a means of providing those benefits, and a resolution to continue to work together toward building such an organization. To date, there have been two meetings, with a third scheduled for tonight. In summary, five areas have been identified as target elements for develop- ment of a cultural program. These are: Communication; Liaison; Financial Resource; Planning; and Education. These recommendations will be taken to the full board of the Arts Council for discussion and finalizing into a comprehensive plan for 1993-94. In addition to the Robert Ketchum Project and the Chamber Music Festival discussed in the attached letter, we are planning a fund-raising event which we are calling "IMAGINE THIS!," scheduled for early February, 1993. It will consist of a family-oriented experiential day at which attendees can learn about the diversity of art and have some hands-on experience in various arts disciplines, all provided by individual member organizations of the Arts Council. We feel that these three activities, as well as other ongoing projects, will strengthen the existing harmonies within the arts community, and foster new growth and a strong cultural program for the Estes Valley. s i nc,r€fy r. * 4*%%„c r ~%·06<<t Gary M. Colorado's Front Range - (CTB's North Central Region) I serve on the region's marketing committee and budget committee both of which are struggling with the implications of Amendment 1 on regional funding by the state, and those counties and communities within the region. In the mean time, the marketing effort of the region with its double-truck Front Range ad in the State Vacation Guide will generate approximately 10,000 qualified inquiries for Estes Park collateral material during 1993.
