Box 4135 Estes Park, CO 80517 303-586-9203 GUIDELINES/ENTRY FORM ROUGH DRAFT ART EXHIBIT/Estes Park Conference Center Expressions of the Rockies August 24 through December 31, 1991 Estes Park Conference Center Expressions of the Rockies is a limited, special exhibit, held by the Town of Estes Park in its new Conference Center on Highway 7. Exhibit finalists will be chosen by six members comprising the Visual Arts Panel, elected by the Board of Directors of the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park. Area artists are encouraged to submit artwork(s) which communicate the values, inspirations, varied visual perspectives, features or lifestyle of the Estes Valley. Artists will be chosen by method of open competition. ARTISTS ELIGIBLE -,All artists currently residing in Estes Park, Allenspark, Drake, Pinewood Springs and Glen Haven areas. (Park R3 School District) MEDIA ACCEPTED -Drawing, painting, fiber, sculpture, photography, pottery, printmaking, glass, handmade paper and metals. Original work only. Artwork will be juried from slides of completed work. Objects/artworks must be clean, ready to display and 2-D work must be framed and wired or ready to hang. Size - Much of the space is suitable for large works. SELECTING CRITERIA * Eligibility * Interpretation of theme * Artistry 3- Quality including design, composifion and presentation * Appropriateness to site * Public safety 3 LOAN OF WORK Artwork shall be loaned to the Town of Estes Park for use in the Conference Center exhibit. Artist must agree to leave work on display through December 31, 1991. The Town of Estes Park assumes no responsibility for the sale of any artwork. Artwork will be labeled by artist name, place of residence, -=Mtitle, medium and phone number only. ENTRY PROCEDURES a) Submit no more than 10 slides (encase in a plastic sheet) of completed artwork(s) to be considered for exhibition. ALL slides must be marked TITLE, MEDIUM, DIMENSIONS, ARTIST'S NAME and TOP. b) Include a 1 or 2 page resume. c) Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope and list of slides, if you want slides returned. Entry form, slides, SASE and list should be delivered to the Town Clerk's office, in the Municipal Building or entries can be mailed to Lynda S. Vogel, Executive Director, CACEP, Box 4135, Estes Park, CO 80517. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY AUGUST 1, 1991. COST PER INQUIRY: __...2, Cost Per Inquiry as of 6/30/91 = $2.90 compared to $3.40 at this same time in 1990. 800 CALLS: -··----9> Incoming 800 calls as of 5/31/91 totaled 19,742, an increase of 6,026 calls over the same period in 1990, equivalent to a 44% increase. Current Projects 1. Our 1991 Fall ad has been produced and placed in the September issues of National Geographic Traveler, Home & Away, Midwest Motorist, Travel Holiday, and Travel & Leisure. 2. The first Conference Center Newsletter has been produced and mailed to over 800 meeting planners in the Rocky Mountain region. 3. Our Summer/Rodeo front range insert was produced and placed this last weekend in Cheyenne, Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Longmont, and Boulder newspapers. 4.
