On Tuesday, May 3, 1994, the Estes Valley Recreation and Park District will submit to
the voters of the District a bond proposal to construct, furnish, equip, and operate an
all -new facility for indoor sports, recreation, health, and leisure -time activities. The
facility will serve all residents of our District and visitors.
The site chosen is in Stanley Park just north of the school
complex and just east of the fairgrounds. The structure will
replace the "old pool building" which has been abandoned
since 1983. Local architects, Thorp Associates, in concert
with Hastings and Chivetta Architects, who specialize in
recreational design, have created this plan for a versatile,
efficient activity center to benefit the Estes Valley area
population.

Dear Mr. Scott,
This letter is in inquiry of finding a suitable location to hold
a motor coach rally in your area. Your name and address have been
given me as a. person interested in assisting in bringing tourist
business to Estes Park.
The group I represent has over 250 coaches all belonging to the
Family Motor Coach Association. The rally is two -fold in that it
would satisfy the monthly rally requirements of the clubs involved
and more important it would be an opportunity for -the Rocky Mountain -
Chapter to acquaint the other club members with the coming events of
the district FMCA Ramble scheduled at the Pueblo Fairgrounds in
September of this year. The Rocky Mountain Chapter is hosting the
Pueblo event. It is anticipated there will be well over 400 FMCA
coaches attending the Pueblo Ramble. I participated in a similar
Ramble in Pueblo in 1989 which hosted 308 coaches. Very good for
the local businesses.
It is most important that the location I secure have a meeting
area that would accommodate over 200 people, have the capacity to
park 100 coaches 34 to 40 feet in length and have full hookups.
I have been asked to locate suitable accommodations where all
coaches will be parked in the same general area within walking
distance of the business meeting location. It is imperative that I
make a decision as quickly as possible so I therefore ask you to
call me if you have knowledge of a spot that would be suitable. My
phone number is (303) 226-3689. Please have all pertinent
information regarding location and pricing. It would be good to be
close to shopping if possible. There is considerable talk of making
this 3 state coach get-together an annual affair if participants are
pleased with this year's accommodations and club activities. We
need no entertainment as we generate our own satisfying program.
There will be no after-10-loud-mouth parties and no unlawful acts
that would embarrass you or any camp host.
If it would be a requirement for verification of the character
of the club members, I could give you several prominent Estes Park
FMCA members' names should you want to confer with them.
Mr. Scott, I would hope to hear from you soon. Feel free to
call anytime between 8:00 A.M. and 10:30 P.M. 7 days weekly.
Respectfully su itted,
(::;-;14-/ e2 4W-

Dear Bob,
Confirming our phone conversation recently. We have no objection
to the Fairgrounds accommodating the F.M.C.A. Rally on August 19
and 20. We cannot accommodate 85-100 rigs on those dates due to
other reservations.
Thanks for working with us on these groups.
