GROWTH POTENTIAL: Jazz Fest: Good potential to double in size
if appropriate funds are found to bring in popular bands.
Art Walk: Will continue to grow each year just being the quality
event that it is. Both need continued advertising in the
frontrange and Denver area.
COMMENTS: We were able to obtain Mama Rose's and Poppy's as
sponsors this year and it made a great difference in the quality
of bands we were able to hire. Dotsero was Saturday's headliner
and generated a great deal of response in the Jazz community.
Many calls were received during the week asking for information
concerning their playing time, etc. We hope to continue the
sponsor relationship with Barlow so that we can continue upward.
The new times of 1 pm to 5 pm worked much better. Max Wagner
should be asked to continue to direct this event. A significant
difference was seen both in calls and attendance due to having a
name band on the program. Total expenses for Jazz Fest 93 was
$4,500. Art Walk: EP Gallery Association does an excellent job
promoting this event. The galleries were very pleased with the
increase in audience numbers. These two events work well
together.
