1. Approval of the December meeting minutes.
2. Starting time of meetings.
Current Business
1. Arbor Day Celebration: We have discussed options for this event, including
distribution of seedlings to students and/or presentation of living trees to classrooms
to be planted in a common area. Our goal is to decide the format of this year’s
celebration. Details and responsibilities will be decided at the February meeting.
• Report of the meeting with the elementary school principal. —Sandy
• Discussion of options and decision on the celebration format.
2. Legacy Tree Program: Requests for purchasing memorial trees are coming in. Barb
needs to know how we’d like to handle them.
• A look at the old Legacy Tree brochure. —Barb
• A brief discussion of how and when we should proceed with developing the
program.
3. Tree Symposium: We need to finalize our plans at this meeting. Time is getting
short.
• A report on the Holiday Inn option, including final prices. Final decision on
where to hold the Symposium.
• Discussion of and decision on whether we will do a half-day or full-day
program.
• Setting of the program topics and time schedule. (See attachment with the two
previous program schedules.)

1. Presentation from the keynote speaker, Dave Leatherman, entomologist.
2. Local update on beetle infestation, mitigation efforts
3. Landscape choices in beetle country

6. Panel Discussion – beetle infestation policies of various governmental agencies
7. Panel Discussion – statewide experts on how to deal with beetle infestation
