IN THE TOWN OF ESTES PARK ADMINISTRATION CONFERENCE ROOM ON DECEMBER 1, 2006 Members: Wendell Amos EVIA Representative Sue Doylen Community Representative Russ Franklin Parks Department Rep. Wendy McCartney Colorado State Forest Service Scott Roederer Community Representative Bob Seifert Community Representative Attendees: Bruce Kane, Sue Doylen, Wendy McCartney, Scott Roederer, Dale Babit, guest with beetle tree Meeting called to order at 8:30 a.m. 1. TREE MEMORIAL A. Sue needs old tree memorial brochure for utility bill mailing B. Possibility of adding 10th anniversary Tree City ad C. Possibility of adding CVB arboretum ad D. Possibility of adding pine beetle symposium ad 2. CVB LANDSCAPING A. Budget B. Sponsors for trees and complete islands – private and corporate 3. TREE COOKIES – RINGS A. Ponderosa slab , possibly from Rock Inn owner B. Russ to look into tree service help C. Wendy will ask other forest service people D. Look into other species of trees like aspen and fir 4. PINE BEETLE SYMPOSIUM A. Possible set-up I. Classroom type II. Mail and lecture B. Set date – school Spring Break last two weeks in March, so set after March on a Saturday C. League of Women voters expressed interest to Sue D.
