Wendy McCartney Colorado State Forest Service Scott Roederer Community Representative Bob Seifert Community Representative Attendees: Bruce Kane, Russ Franklin, Scott Roederer, Bob Seifert, Wendy McCartney Meeting called to order at 8:32 a.m. 1. Pine Beetles  Wendy McCartney spoke on the Western Slope beetle problem and the beetles in our area  Tree care: deep root watering  Dwarf mistletoe problem  Drought  Grand Lake area has more of a monoculture and is more of a sub alpine region  Our area has more types of trees such as: ponderosa, spruce, lodgepole, aspen, Engelmann spruce, etc.  We are montane, sub alpine  If the tree has turned red or brown, the beetle has already flown 2. Report on web page  Members will study web page draft sheets and comment at next meeting 3. Schedule for news releases  No set schedule for news releases  Beetle information will be available in late winter  Winter watering and wildlife protection coming soon 4. Next meeting agenda will include:  Report on web page  Assign articles to members The next Tree Board meeting will be at 8:30 a.m. November 3, 2006.
