TREE BOARD MEETING
TOWN OF ESTES PARK
September 1, 2006

Meeting called to order at 8:31 a.m.
1. CVB Landscaping
• Discussed plant types of an arboretum and landscaping
1. Talked about native specimens along the river
2. Need to find out from Pickering what types of plants we’d like to see at the CVB
2. Pine Beetles
• Talked about pine beetle devastation on Western Slope
• Need to become educated about what happened there to prevent it from happening here
• Possibly get a speaker from the EVIA
• Find out about an education deal for all the tree services in the area
• Plan a symposium for Spring to educate people about Grand Lake pine beetle problems
3. Web Page
• Franklin to investigate possibility of getting web page for Tree Board
4. Next meeting agenda will include:
• Report on web page
• Schedule for news releases
• Speaker on what happened to Grand Lake and surrounding area
The next Tree Board meeting will be at 8:30 a.m. October 6, 2006.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:41 a.m.
