HomeMy WebLinkAboutLETTER Basis Arch 3110 S St Vrain, Taharaa 2004-12-07December 7th, 2004 Will Birchfield Building Official Town of Estes Park, Colorado RE: Tabaraa Mountain Lodge Area Separation Wall and Roof Openings Dear Will: This letter is written to clarify our understanding of your requirements for mechanical penetrations adjacent to the 2-hour area separation wall at the Taharaa Mountain Lodge, 3110 South Highway 7. Cornerstone Construction alerted us that you had advised that mechanical penetrations were permissible within 10 feet of the area separation wall. UBC Section 504.6.6 exception 3 states that a ten foot separation is required for openings in the lower roof. It is our understanding that your interpretation is that a mechanical penetration is not an opening and that a 10 foot separation is not required. We will inform the contractor that this separation is not required unless you advise to the contrary. Please let us know if we should proceed otherwise. Respectfully, e44 att hew G. Heiser P.O.
