HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES Estes Park Centennial-BiCentennial Commision 1976-08-16MINUTES OF THE ESTES PARK CENTENNIAL-BICENTENNIA.L COMMISSION MEETING HELD AT THE VISITOR CENTER ON P IONDAY, AUGUST 16, 1976 AT 7:30 P.M. The seventeenth meeting of the Commission was called to order by Chairman Dykes at 7:45 p.m. Members present were: Marge Wolpert, Al Mencher, Margaret Houston, Ruth Deffenbaugh and Rusty Mikel. 1. Chairman Dykes reported that the historical sign to be used at the site of the Dunraven Cottage was due in but had not been installed. 2. Minutes of the meeting of July 19 were approved as circulated. 3. Chairman Dykes reported that Rodeo Parade prizes had been awarded to the Trojanettes, the McGregor Museum a nd the Screaming Eagles of Boulder. Presentation of awards was handled at the Lazy B luncheo n. 4. Limited discussion followed on Elk Festival activities. Plans will be finalized early in September. Al Mencher moved that the next meeting be held on Monday, September 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building. This meeting to be in lieu of the regularly scheduled third Monday meeting. Committee chairmen of the Beard Growing and Pie Baking Contests were to be present to report on plans and enlist assistance. The motion was second and approved. Discussion of other possible activities centered in Bond Park during the Festival followed. Ma4p Wolpert and Rusty Mikel agreed to f ollowup. 5. The members present viewed the Visitor Center's multi -media presentation and all responded favorably. 6. The meeting adjourned at 8:40. Respectfully submitted, Ruth Deffenbaugh Secretary.
