Minutes of the Estes Park Centennial -Bicentennial Commission
May 17, 1976
The fourteenth meeting of the commission was called to order
by the acting Chairman, Rusty Mikel, at 7:35 p.m. ub Room
100, Municipal Building.
Members present included: Charles Chaffin, Margaret Houston,
Al Mencher, John Ownby, Fred Steffens, Marge Wolpert, Ruth
Deffenbaugh, Rusty Mikel, Marcia Bruns, and George Cowles.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as circulated.
Margaret Houston gave a treasurer's report: 281.39 in General
Fund and $l17.71 in petty cash.
Fred Steffens read a letter he received from Marilyn Pedersen
concerning placement of the sign at Dunraven Cottage. Fred
will get in touch with the Pedersens and try to work out
details. He will have a report on the happenings at the next
meeting.
A letter of resignation from Dick Hillyer was accepted with
much regret.
COMAITTEE REPORTS -
Marge Wolpert will have a full report at the next meeting
concerning her style show to be held August 12 & 13.
Charles Chaffin reported the Centennial -Bicentennial Mus-
ical has been postponed until October. Rehearsals will start
again in September.
There was discussion on .the wearing of Bicentennial clothes.
There will be a Tea at the Dunraven Cottage on July 4 from
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Possibly there could be a dedication of the
sign that day. Discussion of this wastabled until next meet-
ing pending report from Fred Steffens as reported earlier.
Rooftop Rodeo Parade Float sponsored by Centennial -Bicentennial
Commission. Fred Steffens has slides of floats at Disneyworld
_and will possiblyshovr_them for ideas.
American Issues Forum -Ruth Deffenbaugh reported a successful
year. This was endorsed by the Commission.
Status of the Multi -Media Project at the Chamber Building w as
reported by Fred Steffens. The Flag Pole Dedication will be
the sane day as the opening of the Multi -Media Project.
Charles Chaffin was nominated, seconded and elected unanimously
to fill the office of 1st Vice f'ulrigiE3X1IX Chairman.
Fred Steffens moved we adjourn. Ruth Deffenbaugh seconded.
The'meeting stood adjourned.
